On the way to school, Ellie sat on a bench waiting for her friend. She noticed snow all around her. Later that day, Ellie and her friend walked home and passed the same bench. Ellie's friend said, “There is a puddle in front of the bench. It must have rained while we were in school, creating this puddle.”

Ellie disagreed. She had a different claim about how the puddle formed based on the evidence from her observations. Ellie's evidence was as follows:

The park was covered in snow that morning but not in the afternoon.
Ellie didn’t need her jacket on the way home because it was so warm.
It was sunny all day.
Do you think the puddle was formed from rain? Why or why not?

IF YOU GIVE A LINK OR DON"T ACTUALLY ANSWER THIS QUESTION RIGHT JUST FOR POINTS I WILL REPORT YOUR ANSWER

Answers

Answer:

No, the puddle was formed because of the sun, because if there was snow and it rained then it would have turned slippery or icy

It wasn’t formed by rain because the snow melted by the sun.

Explanation: If Ellie didn’t need a jacket but there was still some snow that means that it snowed the night before and melted today because the temperature became higher not because it rained

A small gap is left between the rails in the railway track. Analyze the reason.

Answers

Answer:

There could be several possible reasons for a small gap between rails on a railway track, such as:

1. Expansion joints: Railways are designed to allow the tracks to expand and contract with changes in temperature. To accommodate this expansion, small gaps are left between the rail ends and filled with expansion joints or plates.

2. Wear and tear: Over time, the rails may experience wear and tear due to heavy loads, weather conditions, and other factors. As a result, small gaps can appear between the rails.

3. Maintenance: During maintenance activities, rail tracks may be adjusted or replaced, which could lead to small gaps between the rails.

4. Environmental factors: Environmental factors such as soil shifts, earthquakes or other natural disasters can also affect the alignment of the rails, leading to small gaps.

These are some of the possible reasons for a small gap between the rails on a railway track.

Answer:

The small gap left between the rails in a railway track is intentional and serves a specific purpose. This gap is known as the rail joint, and it allows for the expansion and contraction of the rails due to changes in temperature. When the temperature changes, the metal rails will expand or contract, and if they were joined together tightly, they could buckle or become deformed, which could be dangerous for trains passing over them. The rail joint allows the rails to move slightly and prevent damage to the track.

Additionally, the rail joint also allows for maintenance and repairs of the track. If there were no gap between the rails, it would be challenging to replace a damaged rail or perform routine maintenance, such as tightening bolts or lubricating joints. With the rail joint, maintenance personnel can easily access and work on the track.

Overall, the small gap left between the rails in a railway track is intentional and serves a crucial function in ensuring the safety and reliability of the track.

A student uses red litmus paper to test the pH value of different solutions. Which would result in a color change of the litmus paper?

soap
vinegar
lemon juice
antifreeze

Answers

the answer should be soap :)

The litmus paper shows red colour for acidic substances and blue colour for basic substances. Thus a red litmus paper will turn blue if it is dipped in an alkaline solution. Soap is  alkaline and given blue color to litmus.

What is pH?

pH of a substance is its measure of concentration of H+ ions in it. It is mathematically negative logarithm of H+ ion concentration. Thus, pH measures how much acidic or basic the solution is.

A pH of of 7 is neutral having no acidity or basicity. A pH less than 7 is acidic and pH greater than 7 is basic in nature. Vinegar is acetic acid and it shows less pH . Lemon juice also acidic since it contain citric acid whereas, soap is basic.

A litmus paper is used to identify whether a substance is acidic or basic. It shows red color for acidic solutions and blue for basic solutions. If the red litmus paper is dipped in acidic one, it shows no colour change if it is dipped in basic solution then it turns to blue.

Soap is highly alkaline and it changes red litmus paper to blue.

1. Using D10W and a vial of NaCl 4 mEq/mL, how many mL of NaCl are needed to prepare 250 mL of a
D10/NS solution?
a. 4.8mL
b. 9.6ml
c. 19.6mL
d. 154mL

Answers

To prepare 250 mL of a D10/NS solution using D10W and a vial of NaCl 4 mEq/mL, you would need 9.6 mL of NaCl. Normal saline (NS) contains 154 mEq/L of sodium chloride (NaCl). To prepare 250 mL of NS, you would need 250 mL * (154 mEq/L) = 38500 mEq of NaCl. Since the vial of NaCl contains 4 mEq/mL, you would need 38500 mEq / (4 mEq/mL) = 9625 mL = 9.6 mL of NaCl. So the correct answer is b. 9.6ml.

the correct answer is A 4.8 mL

Hey Lenny lately I’ve been having a rough time in the water cycle. It all started when I was chilling in my favorite location the “glaciars” and suddenly the sun turned me into liquid form. Next thing I know I am hurdling down a river straight into a massive lake. Personally this is my least favorite stage of the water cycle because of kids and bacteria that lurk in the water, very scary things. I didn’t stop at the lake very long, and instead sunk into the soil in a process called collection so I could become ground water. Underground reservoir’s are much more peaceful then lakes and I wanted to stay there. However I was forced up a water well pump shortly after and sent through a long tube. Me and couple of the friends I met on the way were all dispersed over a giant grass feild. Many molecules in the group were captured by the hostile plants but I escaped through the means of evaporation. Currently I have condensed into cloud form and I am roaming the skies looking for you, when you get this let me know and I’ll percipitate in your area! Explain the relationship between work, energy and power

Answers

Explanation:

Work can increase energy, and energy can do work. Power is the rate at which work is done.

When the speed of the bottle is 2 m/s, the KE is kg m2/s2. When the speed of the bottle is 3 m/s, the KE is kg m2/s2. When the speed of the bottle is 4 m/s, the KE is kg m2/s2. When the speed of the bottle is 5 m/s, the KE is kg m2/s2. When the speed of the bottle is 6 m/s, the KE is kg m2/s2.
instructions
In this part of the experiment, you will be changing the speed of the bottle by dropping it from different heights. You will use the same mass, 0.250 kg, for each trial, so record this mass in Table B for each velocity. Then, calculate the expected kinetic energy (KE) at each velocity. Use the formula KE = mv2,
where m is the mass and v is the speed. Record your calculations in Table B of your Student Guide.

Answers

Answer:

Based on the given instructions, you need to calculate the expected kinetic energy (KE) at each velocity using the formula KE = mv^2, where m is the mass and v is the speed. The mass is given as 0.250 kg.

Table B: Calculation of Kinetic Energy (KE)

Table B: Calculation of Kinetic Energy (KE)

Speed (m/s)Mass (kg)KE (kg m^2/s^2)20.2500.50030.2500.75040.2501.00050.2501.25060.2501.500

To calculate the kinetic energy at each velocity, multiply the mass (0.250 kg) by the square of the velocity.

For example, when the speed of the bottle is 2 m/s: KE = (0.250 kg) * (2 m/s)^2 = 0.250 kg * 4 m^2/s^2 = 1.000 kg m^2/s^2

Perform similar calculations for the other velocities and record the results in Table B.

Answer:

Explanation:mass of the bottle in each case is M = 0.250 kg

now as per given speeds we can use the formula of kinetic energy to find it

3) when speed is 4 m/s
