In one or two paragraphs, describe how a typical American's life differed before and during the Industrial Revolution.

Answers

Before the Industrial Revolution, life for the average American was primarily agricultural and rural. Most people lived on small farms or worked on large plantations, relying on manual labor, animal power, and simple tools to get things done. Families often worked together to produce food and goods, and social class was largely determined by one's family background. Life was slower-paced and centered around the rhythms of nature, with work and leisure time blending together in a way that is difficult for us to imagine today. Education was often limited to basic literacy and numeracy, and few opportunities for social mobility existed outside of one's family.

During the Industrial Revolution, however, the American way of life was transformed by technological advances that revolutionized manufacturing and transportation. New machinery and technology, such as the steam engine, the spinning jenny, and the power loom, made it possible to produce goods on a scale and at a speed that was previously unimaginable. This led to the rise of factories and urbanization, as people moved from rural areas to work in cities. Work and leisure time became more separate, and the concept of work-life balance emerged as people worked long hours in factories to earn a living. Education also expanded, with the development of public schools and the growth of colleges and universities, opening up new opportunities for social mobility.

Before the Industrial Revolution, a typical American's life was primarily focused on agriculture and small-scale production. People lived in rural areas and relied on farming for their livelihoods. They had to do most tasks manually, like planting and harvesting crops, and making goods by hand. Life was more self-sufficient and centered around the local community.

During the Industrial Revolution, there was a shift towards industrialization and urbanization. Factories and manufacturing became more prevalent, leading to the growth of cities and the rise of the working class. People left their rural homes to seek employment in factories and mills. Life became more fast-paced and centered around work in the industrial sector. However, this also led to long working hours, poor working conditions, and a widening wealth gap between the industrialists and the working class.

Overall, the Industrial Revolution brought significant changes to the lives of Americans, transforming the economy, society, and daily life.

Answers

Answer:

A continental divide is a naturally occurring border or ridge that separates the river systems of a continent. Each river system drains into its own ocean basin, bay, or sea.

Continental divides are large, continent-wide drainage splits, sometimes known as divides. Divides are the boundaries that separate various-sized drainage basins or watersheds. Drainage divisions occur in raised terrain such as mountain ranges or hills, regardless of scale.

Precipitation falling on one side of the split will generally flow to one basin, while precipitation falling on the other side will flow to another.

Sometimes, water may flow toward an endorheic basin, such as a saline lake or salt flat. Endorheic basins are found in desert locations and do not link to an ocean or other big body of water. Most of Africa's Sahara Desert, for example, is an endorheic basin. This implies that rivers and streams flowing into Lake Chad, on the southwestern edge of the Sahara, have no access to the Mediterranean Sea, Atlantic Ocean, or Indian Ocean.

Every continent has a continental divide. Continents with more than two bodies of water may have several continental divides. North America, for example, has three to five major divisions. Because the exact border between ocean basins is not commonly understood, scientists have yet to settle on a definite number.

Some continental boundaries extend over many continents. The Continental Divide of the Americas, sometimes known as the Great Divide, extends through much of North and South America. It separates the water flowing toward the Pacific Ocean from the water flowing toward the Atlantic, Arctic, and Gulf of Mexico. This divide stretches from Cape Prince of Wales in western Alaska through the Rocky Mountains of western Canada and the continental United States, then through Mexico's Sierra Madre Occidental highlands, Central America, and South America's Andes Mountains.

The Continental Divide is a geological formation that runs through North America from Alaska to Mexico. It is a line that separates the flow of water between the Pacific and Atlantic oceans. The divide runs through the Rocky Mountains, and its highest point is Mount Elbert in Colorado. The divide is also an important marker for both ecological and political boundaries, and is a popular route for outdoor enthusiasts who hike, bike, or canoe along its length. In addition, the Continental Divide is a crucial source of freshwater for the western United States, providing water for farms, cities, and recreation areas.

I think France had the strongest military during WWII, because the German Invasion of France during 1940 was a easy win for Hitler and Germany. But again, it could be strategy, not man-power. I also don’t think Canada played a huge roll in the War. I think they joined because the UK was in the war and so did other Commonwealth Countries, like Australia. The main key players in WWII were probably the Soviet Union and the United States. France still existed under Nazi rule (though it was called Vichy France) and was probably a key player too. The Allied Invasion of Normandy was a big turning point in the War, and Germany did see a lot of casualties, so I think the answer is the first two scenarios; the Normandy invasion was a significant turning point during the war and Germany experienced the most casualties during the Normandy invasion.

Why did Kepler have more accurate information about the movement of the planets than ptolemy?

Answers

Answer:

With Copernicus's circular orbits Planets were not obeying the correct movements.. They did not match the observations. So Kepler found a solution. That the orbits were elliptical.

Johannes Kepler had more accurate information about the movement of the planets than Ptolemy because he relied on the observations.

Why did Kepler have more accurate information about the movement of the planets than ptolemy?

Observations of his mentor, Tycho Brahe, who had made more accurate and detailed observations of the planets than anyone before him.

Brahe had spent over 20 years meticulously observing the positions of the planets using large, precise instruments and recording his observations in great detail. Kepler used this data to develop his laws of planetary motion, which accurately described the motion of the planets around the sun in a way that Ptolemy's geocentric model could not.

Ptolemy's model, which had been the dominant theory for over a thousand years, was based on the assumption that the earth was the center of the universe and all the planets moved in perfect circles around it.

Kepler's laws, in contrast, showed that the planets moved in elliptical orbits around the sun, and his work laid the foundation for the development of modern astronomy.

↓What are three ways that God speaks to us today?↓

What are three ways that God speaks to us today?

Answers

Answer:

Explanation:

1. Words We Hear

The first way God speaks is the one that’s most often associated with hearing his voice: words we hear. While we would all love to hear an ‘audible’ voice, hearing God’s voice speak in this way appears somewhat rare and particularly reserved for those moments when we’re about to step out into the traffic! The word ‘audible’ itself may indeed be a misnomer – according to my doctoral research, most of those who have experienced it, say it would not have been heard by those around them (See Waiting for God to Speak Out Loud? Think Again). Mostly it seems, the Spirit speaks to us inaudibly and internally – with a message that sounds much like our own thoughts – i.e the ‘still small voice’ of Elijah’s experience (1 Kings 19:9-13).

When God speaks in words, he may give us a single phrase or he may use full sentences. He may use a wordplay (eg. Jeremiah 1:11-12) or give us a riddle that calls us to ponder (Numbers 12:8). Often he’ll ask a question to get us thinking (1 Kings 19:9, 2 Chronicles 1:7) and as the conversation continues, he reveals something more significant later on.

2. Pictures We See

The second way God speaks is in pictures that we see. As God said through the prophet Jeremiah; “Which of them has stood in the council of the Lord to see or to hear his word?” (Jeremiah 23:18, italics mine). We hear his message through words, but we see his message through pictures.

At first, this may seem an unusual way to speak, but we need to remember picture language is the most basic of languages. When children first learn to read, we give them a picture book to practise with – not the Oxford Dictionary. Further, imagery is the most expressive way to communicate which is why it is often said that a picture tells a thousand words. Perhaps this is why God communicates in this way so often in the Scriptures, particularly in the Old Testament where dreams and visions comprise ⅓ of the content (Read: Dreams – God’s Favourite Form of Communication).

When God speaks in pictures, his message comes in dreams when we’re sleeping or visions when we’re awake. Sometimes the picture speaks symbolically and requires interpretation (see for example; The Meaning of Vehicles in Dreams). Other times, the scene is more literal.

Sometimes God’s visual messages are full of riddles, poetry and allegorical forms that are not easily interpreted or measurable. These can be compared to the parables of Jesus which use images or scenes to communicate an idea. Walton suggests that the reason word pictures are used by God is to engage the right side of our brains.1 (This idea was touched on in the podcast: Are Women Better at Hearing God’s Voice?)

Communication in picture form is a way of speaking that the Western church often finds difficult to accept. Writers like Dallas Willard2 and Wayne Grudem3 have gone so far to say it is not a valid way to hear God’s voice. The reasons are primarily historical – an unfortunate product of Reformation thinking that downplayed the so-called mystical forms of spiritual experience. In fact, imagery is the most common form of communication in the Scriptures and can be the most powerful and creative way of all (Read Why God Speaks in Dreams and Visions or listen to this podcast as an example).

3. Emotions We Feel

Finally, God’s messages may come packaged as emotions we feel. In other words, we sense what God is saying to us. The emotion of the Holy Spirit is felt physically and this in itself communicates a message.

So the presence of hope may invade us, comforting us and calling us forward (Galatians 5:22-23, 1 Corinthians 14:3). Peace becomes a guide to lead us (Colossians 3:15) and a deep-seated conviction may turn us around (John 16:8). A friend of mine with a ministry in healing often experiences a sense of sadness when she meets someone who the Holy Spirit wants to touch in a profound way.

One of the reasons why dreams can be such powerful communicators is because the emotion we experience in them becomes part of the message. Daniel felt deep anguish when he first experienced his visions (Daniel 10:1-9), John found himself weeping (Revelation 5:4) and Peter was revulsed by what he had seen in his trance (Acts 10:14). Of course on the other hand, feelings of guilt, shame, fear or condemnation are never a part of God’s communiqués to us.

So God speaks to us in words, pictures and emotions. There are other forms too – although these are not as common. In my doctoral studies, I’ve interviewed people who have heard from the Holy Spirit through the senses of taste and smell! God packages his message to us in a myriad of forms. He is a masterful communicator who knows how to get his message across to those who are listening.

The digital revolution was an event from the beginning of the 21st century that influenced the way people live and relate, generating several economic and social changes, such as globalization.

In the long run, globalization will continue to impact the US and the world, making environments multicultural and diverse, and increasingly strengthening the concept of the world as a global village.

Through new technologies, such as the internet, new paradigms of behavior, social and professional relationships and consumption are also generated.

As an advantage of the digital revolution, we can mention the improvement of scientific methods, which through information technology achieve greater accuracy and speed in identifying events, curing diseases, developing techniques for medicine, etc.

Therefore, despite the benefits arising from the digital revolution and globalization, it is necessary to control the use of these tools, as the speed of the flow of information and events can generate an increase in mental disorders and pathologies.

The power given to parents over their children also goes along with responsibilities. Some of these have been mentioned above. Others are to provide:

Children by the virtue of age, physical, mental, and emotional abilities are prone to errors. This is why they require care. For this primary reason, the responsibility and authority to carry out those responsibilities must be attributed to an adult.

It is estimated that by the age of 18 and above (for most countries) a healthy person has gathered sufficient information, environmental know-how, mental and physical strength to solve the primary problems of survival. Hence, they are no longer minors and can fend for themselves as well as for others.

Parental Authority is crucial to the survival of the human race. If minors were allowed to do as they please, man would steer itself into extinction.
