Therefore, the standard error should be smaller the better. In fact, a standard error of zero or extremely close to it would indicate that the projected value and the actual value are identical.Sample size determination is the process of deciding how many observations or replicates to include in a statistical sample. Calculate the future value of a three year uneven cash flow given below, using 11% discount rate:
Year 0 Year 1 Year 2 Year 3
0 $600 $500 $400

Answers

Therefore, the future value of a three-year uneven cash flow given below, using an 11% discount rate is $1,238.82.

To calculate the future value of a three-year uneven cash flow given below, using an 11% discount rate, we need to use the formula;

Future value of uneven cash flow = cash flow at year 1/(1+discount rate)¹ + cash flow at year 2/(1+discount rate)² + cash flow at year 3/(1+discount rate)³ + cash flow at year 4/(1+discount rate)⁴

Given the cash flows;

Year 0: $0

Year 1: $600

Year 2: $500

Year 3: $400

Then the Future value of uneven cash flow

= $600/(1+0.11)¹ + $500/(1+0.11)² + $400/(1+0.11)³

= $600/1.11 + $500/1.23 + $400/1.36

=$540.54 + $405.28 + $293.00

=$1,238.82

A= 1/2 b h    b=6   h=2.5

= 7.5

Answer:

7.5 inches squared

Step-by-step explanation:

If only distances are provided, there are two methods to find the area of a triangle.  Which method to use depends on which lengths are provided:

Method 1:  Base * Height (one leg and the corresponding height)Method 2:  Heron's Formula (all three legs are known)

Method 1: Base * Height

For any triangle, a line segment from one vertex that terminates perpendicularly to the leg across from it is considered a "height," and the leg that the "height" intersects is "base".  If both quantities are known, then the area of the triangle is base times height divided by 2 (sometimes stated as 1/2 times base times height).

In an equation format: \(Area_{triangle}=\frac{1}{2}base*height\), often abbreviated as \(A_{triangle}=\frac{1}{2}bh\)

For this example, the base at the bottom "6 in" has a corresponding height of "2.5 in", so

\(A_{triangle}=\frac{1}{2}(2.5~\text{in})(6~\text{in})\)

\(A_{triangle}=7.5\text{ in}^2\)

Method 2: Heron's Formula

If you are not provided any of the heights, but only the three legs of the triangle, Heron's formula provides a method of finding the area of the triangle.  It is significantly more complicated, and should only be used if one doesn't have one of the heights given.

Heron's formula gives the area of a triangle using the following formula:\(A=\sqrt{s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c)}\) where a, b, and c, are the side lengths of the triangle, and "s" is the "semi-perimeter" (one half of the perimeter) of the triangle: \(s=\dfrac{a+b+c}{2}\)

To be consistent, let's let a=3 in, b=5 in, and c=6 in.

Calculating the semi-perimeter of the given triangle first:

\(s=\dfrac{a+b+c}{2}=\dfrac{(3~\text{in})+(5~\text{in})+(6~\text{in})}{2}=\dfrac{14~\text{in}}{2}=7~\text{in}\)

Calculating the area:

\(A=\sqrt{s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c)}\)

\(A=\sqrt{(7~\text{in})((7~\text{in})-(3~\text{in}))((7~\text{in})-(5~\text{in}))((7~\text{in})-(6~\text{in}))}\)

\(A=\sqrt{(7~\text{in})(4~\text{in)(2~\text{in})(1~\text{in})}\)

\(A=\sqrt{56~\text{in}^4}\)

\(A=7.48331477355...~\text{in}^2\)

\(A\approx7.5~\text{in}^2\)

Side note:  The 2.5 inches that they gave you in the problem isn't exactly 2.5 inches.  They rounded to one decimal place there.

State whether the sequence an=(−1)^n/n+11 converges and, if it does, find the limit.
a) converges to −1
b) converges to 1
c) diverges
d) converges to 1/12
e) converges to 0

Answers

The sequence an=\((-1)^n/n+11\) converges and the limit is zero. The correct option is e.

The given sequence is a_n = \((-1)^n / (n + 11)\). To determine whether this sequence converges or diverges, we can apply the limit test. We need to find the limit of a_n as n approaches infinity:

lim (n→∞) \((-1)^n / (n + 11)\)

Notice that the denominator, n + 11, increases without bound as n approaches infinity. The numerator, \((-1)^n\), oscillates between -1 and 1 for different values of n. Therefore, the overall value of the sequence a_n will approach 0 as n increases.

Since the limit exists, we can conclude that the sequence converges. As we have found the limit to be 0, the correct option is: e) converges to 0

Answers

Answer:

\(\frac{x}{y}\)45 long

Step-by-step explanation:

The total area of both the triangles is 56.25 square units.

What is the scale factor of similar triangles?

When two triangles are similar, the reduced ratio of any two corresponding sides is called the scale factor of the similar triangles.

What is area?

The space occupied by a flat shape or the surface of an object is called area.

What is the formula for area of triangle?

Area = (1/2) × base × height

According to the given question.

We have a two triangles, which are similar to each other.

Let the length of the side DE in triangle DEF be x.

Since, ABC similar to DEF

⇒\(\frac{AB}{DE} =\frac{BC}{EF}\)

⇒\(\frac{12}{x} =\frac{6}{4.5}\)

⇒\(\frac{12(4.5)}{6} = x\)

⇒\(2(4.5)=x\)

⇒ \(x = 9\)

Now, area of triangle ABC = \(\frac{1}{2}(6)(12)=36 square units\)

Area of triangle DEF = \(\frac{1}{2} (9)(4.5)= 20.25square units\)

Therefore,

The total area for both the triangles

A marketing assistant for a technology firm plans to randomly select 1000 customers to estimate the proportion who are satisfied with the firm's performance. Based on the results of the survey, the assistant will construct a 95% confidence interval for the proportion of all customers who are satisfied. The marketing manager, however, says that the firm can afford to survey only 250 customers. How will this decrease in sample size affect the margin of error and confidence interval? True Statements False Statements The margin of error will be about 2 times larger. The margin of error will be about 4 times larger The margin of error will be about the same size. The margin of error will be about half as farge. The margin of error will be about one-fourth as large. The confidence interval will be wider. The confidence interval will be narrower.

Answers

The decrease in sample size from 1000 to 250 will result in a larger margin of error and a wider confidence interval.

The margin of error can be calculated using the formula:

Margin of error = z * √(p * (1 - p) / n)

where z is the z-score for a desired confidence level, p is the estimated proportion of satisfied customers, and n is the sample size. As the sample size decreases, the margin of error increases. So, in this case, the margin of error will be about 4 times larger with a sample size of 250 compared to a sample size of 1000.

The width of the confidence interval is determined by the margin of error and the sample size. As the margin of error increases, the confidence interval becomes wider. So, the confidence interval will be wider with a sample size of 250 compared to a sample size of 1000.

In summary, the decrease in sample size from 1000 to 250 will result in a larger margin of error and a wider confidence interval. None of the options in the list are completely true.
