Personally, I use a study technique called the Pomodoro Timer. You do work for 25 mins and take 5 mins break. When you've completed your 4th pomodoro session, you should take a 40 min break to just kinda refresh. These are standard session sizes so you can adjust the amount of time you work for but if you do longer study sessions I highly recommend longer breaks
I've heard tips where you should dress up for studying so you can use that to support you.
When you study, it can be anytime you want or the time of day you feel most productive. I suggest that you do it 5-6pm to get those sessions or 7-8 depending on the time you have dinner :)
As for where, you should have a dedicated space solely for studying. If you study in a place where you relax, most of the time you won't be able to do any work so keep your study space separate from your relaxation space.
