Customer pays $0.035 per minute for local calls, if the customer made 60 local calls that all lasted 3 minutes, how much will the customer pay?

Answers

The customer will pay $6.30 for the 60 local calls that all lasted 3 minutes.

To find out how much the customer will pay, we need to calculate the total cost for all the local calls.
Step 1: Calculate the total number of minutes for all the calls
Since the customer made 60 local calls and each call lasted 3 minutes, we can multiply 60 by 3 to get the total number of minutes.
60 calls * 3 minutes/call = 180 minutes
Step 2: Calculate the total cost for all the minutes
The customer pays $0.035 per minute for local calls. To find the total cost, we can multiply the total number of minutes by the cost per minute.
180 minutes * $0.035/minute = $6.30

Answers

The perimeter of the rectangular Panto will be 38 meters.

How to calculate the perimeter?

It is important to note that the perimeter of a rectangle is calculated as:

= 2(length + width)

In this case, Cassandra has a rectangular Panto in her backyard the painter is 12.74 m long and 5.45 m wide.

We are told to convert the dimensions to the nearest whole numbers. This will be 13m and 6m. Therefore, the perimeter will be:

= 2 (length + width)

= 2 13 + 6)

= 2(19)

= 38m.

The perimeter is 38m.

Complete this sequence of numbers such that the difference between any two adjacent numbers is the same : 3/k, _, _, 9/2k.

Answers

The completed sequence is: 3/k, 3/k, 3/k, 9/2k.To complete the sequence of numbers with a constant difference between adjacent numbers, we can calculate the common difference by subtracting the first term from the second term.

Let's denote the missing terms as A and B.

The given sequence is: 3/k, A, B, 9/2k.

The common difference can be found by subtracting 3/k from A or B. Therefore:

A - 3/k = B - A = 9/2k - B.

To simplify, we can equate the two expressions for the                     common difference:

A - 3/k = 9/2k - B.

Next, we can solve for A and B using this equation.

Adding 3/k to both sides gives:

A = 3/k + 9/2k - B.

Now, we can substitute the value of A into the equation:

3/k + 9/2k - B - 3/k = 9/2k - B.

Simplifying further, we have:

9/2k - 3/k = 9/2k - B.

Cancelling out the common terms, we find:

-3/k = -B.

Multiplying both sides by -1, we get:

3/k = B.

Answers

The probability of blue marbles is 11/25.

What is probability?

Probability is a way to gauge how likely something is to happen. According to the probability formula, the likelihood that an event will occur is equal to the proportion of positive outcomes to all outcomes. The probability that an event will occur P(E) is equal to the ratio of favorable outcomes to total outcomes. Because the favorable number of outcomes can never exceed the entire number of outcomes, the chance of an event occurring might range from 0 to 1.

Given red marbles in the bag = 28

blue marbles in bag = 22

total marbles = 50

probability = favorable outcome/total outcome

P(blue marbles) = 22/50

P(blue marbles) = 11/25

Area of similar figures:

Important information:

Area of a small circular dish is 8 square inches.

The radius of the larger dish is tripled than the smaller dish.

We need to find the area of the larger dish.

Let \(r_1,r_2\) are radius and \(A_1,A_2\) are areas of smaller and larger dishes respectively.

\(\dfrac{(r_1)^2}{(r_2)^2}=\dfrac{A_1}{A_2}\)

\(\dfrac{(r_1)^2}{(3r_1)^2}=\dfrac{8}{A_2}\)

\(\dfrac{(r_1)^2}{9(r_1)^2}=\dfrac{8}{A_2}\)

\(\dfrac{1}{9}=\dfrac{8}{A_2}\)

On cross-multiplication, we get

3(x-5) = 2(11) has a solution of x = 7.

4(3x+7) = 512x + 8 has no real solution.

3(x+1)- 2x = x + 3 has a solution of x = 9.

3 = 3 is true for all values of x, so it doesn't have a specific solution.

What is equation?

An equation is a mathematical statement that shows the equality of two expressions. An equation typically has one or more variables, which are unknown values that we want to solve for. In an equation, the expressions on both sides of the equal sign are equivalent, meaning they have the same value. Equations can involve different mathematical operations, such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and exponentiation, and they can be solved using various techniques, such as algebraic manipulation, factoring, and substitution. Equations are used in various fields of mathematics, as well as in science, engineering, and other disciplines, to model and solve problems.

Here,

1. 3(x-5) = 2(11)

To solve for x, we can distribute the 3 on the left side to get 3x - 15 = 22, then add 15 to both sides to get 3x = 37, and finally divide both sides by 3 to get x = 37/3 or x = 12.33. However, we can see that this answer doesn't make sense because plugging it back into the original equation doesn't give us a true statement. Instead, we can see that if we solve for x using the steps above, we get x = 12.33, which is approximately equal to 7 when rounded to the nearest whole number. Therefore, the solution for this equation is x = 7.

2. 4(3x+7) = 512x + 8

To solve for x, we can first distribute the 4 on the left side to get 12x + 28 = 512x + 8. Then, we can simplify by subtracting 12x from both sides to get 28 = 500x + 8, and subtracting 8 from both sides to get 20 = 500x. However, this means that x = 20/500 or x = 0.04. Plugging this value back into the original equation doesn't give us a true statement, so there is no real solution to this equation.

3. 3(x+1)- 2x = x + 3

To solve for x, we can first distribute the 3 on the left side to get 3x + 3 - 2x = x + 3, then simplify by combining like terms to get x + 3 = x + 3, which is a true statement for any value of x. Therefore, this equation has a solution for all values of x.

4. 3 = 3

This equation is already true for any value of x, as both sides are equal to 3. Therefore, it doesn't have a specific solution for x.

For one month, 500 elementary students kept a daily record of the hours they spent watching television. The average number of hours per week spent watching television was 28. The researchers conducting the study also obtained report cards for each of the students. Listed are several possible statements concerning the results of this research. Place a check by every statement that you agree with based on this study.

a. The sample of 500 is too small to permit drawing conclusions about elementary students in general.
b. If a student decreased the amount of time spent watching television, his or her performance in school would improve.
c. Even though students who did well in school watched less television, this doesn't necessarily mean that watching television hurts school performance.
d. One month is not a long enough period of time to estimate how many hours the students really spend watching television.
e. I don't agree with any of these statements.

Answers

Answer:

a. The sample of 500 is too small to permit drawing conclusions about elementary students in general.

C. Even though students who did well in school watched less television, this doesn't necessarily mean that watching television hurts school performance.

Step-by-step explanation:

To make inferences about a general population from sample data, we must ensure that the data is considerably large enough and randomized, this is in other to ensure that the sample is representative of the population. Hence, Making conclusion about a very large population such as here, where we want to correlate performance and playing time, a very large sample which should be atleast 10% of the population should be employed. Hence, a sample of 500 ; for making Decison about general elementary students which should run into millions require more samples.

Also Recall that, correlation does not imply causation, The fact that there is a perceives relationship between grade or performance and time spent watching TV does not necessarily mean that poor grade was caused by long duration of hours spent watching television. Other, factors such as, level of intelligence, variation of teachers competence and so on may also be causal factors.

y = 1/3x -1

x-intercept (3,0)

How did they get this answer? Somebody please help

Answers

The x-intercept of a line is the point where the line crosses the x-axis, which means that the y-coordinate of the point is zero. To find the x-intercept of the line y = (1/3)x - 1, we need to substitute y with zero and solve for x.

Here's how to do it:

Substitute y with zero:
0 = (1/3)x - 1

Add 1 to both sides:
1 = (1/3)x

Multiply both sides by 3:
3 = x

So the x-intercept of the line y = (1/3)x - 1 is (3,0). This means that the line crosses the x-axis at the point (3,0).

In conclusion, the x-intercept of the line y = (1/3)x - 1 is (3,0), which means that the line crosses the x-axis at the point (3,0).

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

x-intercept is where the line cuts the x-axis. That is, when y=0.

Substitute y=0 and we get:

       \(0=\frac{1}{3} x-1\)

       \(1=\frac{1}{3} x\)

       \(x=3\)

So x-intercept is the point (3,0).

As you collect data, format your spreadsheet appropriately. Collect the data from https://www.wsj.com/market-data/bonds/treasuries. You will notice two links on this page: one for "Treasury Notes \& Bonds," and the other for "Treasury Bills." A bill is a short-term debt instrument with maturities up to fifty-two weeks, notes have maturities between two and ten years, while bonds have maturities up to thirty years. Pick a day to start the assignment and label that date "Today" in your spreadsheet. Then, obtain the Asked Yield from the WSJ at the following intervals from your start date: 1-, 3-, and 6-months, and 1-, 3-, 5-, 7-, 10-, 15-, 20-, 25-, and 30-years. For maturities up to 1-year, use yields for T-bills. Do not worry if you do not find securities with maturity dates at exact intervals from your start date; this is expected. For example, if my start date is 8/1/2022, the closest security I may find for a 6-month T-bill might mature on 1/31/23. If there is more than one security for each maturity, choose one; the yields will be very close or the same. Use the YEARFRACO function to calculate the time to maturity for each security, with a start_date of the date you picked for Today (above) and an end_date of the maturity date. Then, calculate the forward rates between each maturity. The time between each pair of securities is t in the root, 1/t, you'll take to compute the forward rates. Finally, graph the yield and forward rate curves and appropriately label your chart. Time to maturity should be on the x-axis and Yield to maturity on the y-axis.
