QUESTION FOUR [30] 4.1 List and discuss the two (2) main instruments of fiscal policy.

Answers

Answer 1

The two main instruments of fiscal policy are government spending and taxation.

Government spending involves the expenditure of funds by the government on various sectors and programs, while taxation refers to the levying and collection of taxes from individuals and businesses.

Government spending: This instrument of fiscal policy involves the allocation and utilization of funds by the government for specific purposes.

Governments can increase spending on infrastructure projects, education, healthcare, defense, and other areas to stimulate economic growth and address societal needs.

By increasing government spending, the overall demand in the economy can rise, leading to increased production and job opportunities. However, excessive government spending can lead to budget deficits and inflationary pressures if not managed carefully.

Taxation: Taxation is the process of imposing levies on individuals, businesses, and other entities to generate revenue for the government. Through taxation, the government can control the flow of money in the economy.

By adjusting tax rates, the government can influence consumer and business behavior. For example, reducing taxes can leave individuals with more disposable income, which can stimulate spending and economic growth.

On the other hand, increasing taxes can reduce consumer spending and investment, which may help control inflation but could also slow down economic activity. Fiscal policy can use taxation as a tool to redistribute income and promote social equity.

In practice, governments often use a combination of government spending and taxation to achieve desired economic outcomes.

The specific policies and measures adopted depend on the prevailing economic conditions, policy objectives, and political considerations. Effective management of these fiscal policy instruments is crucial to maintaining a balanced and sustainable economy.

synovec company is growing quickly. dividends are expected to grow at a rate of 20 percent for the next three years, with the growth rate falling off to a constant 4 percent thereafter. if the required return is 10 percent, and the company just paid a dividend of $3.70, what is the current share price?

Answers

The current share price of Synovec company can be calculated by using the dividend discount model. Thus  the current share price of Synovec company is $54.54.

The dividend discount model is a method of valuing a company's stock price based on the theory that its stock is worth the sum of all of its future dividend payments, discounted back to their present value.
Since the company is growing quickly, we will use the multi-stage dividend discount model. The formula for this model is:P = (D1 / (1 + r)^1) + (D2 / (1 + r)^2) + (D3 / (1 + r)^3) + [(D4 / (r - g)) / (1 + r)^3]
Where:
P = current share price
D1, D2, D3, D4 = dividends for year 1, 2, 3, and 4 respectively
r = required return
g = constant growth rate
Given the information in the question, we can plug in the values to calculate the current share price:
D1 =begin $3.70 * 1.20 = $4.44
D2 = $4.44 * 1.20 = $5.33
D3 = $5.33 * 1.20 = $6.39
D4 = $6.39 * 1.04 = $6.65
r = 0.10
g = 0.04
P = ($4.44 / (1 + 0.10)^1) + ($5.33 / (1 + 0.10)^2) + ($6.39 / (1 + 0.10)^3) + [($6.65 / (0.10 - 0.04)) / (1 + 0.10)^3]
P = $4.04 + $4.40 + $4.72 + $41.38
P =end $54.54
Therefore, the current share price of Synovec company is $54.54.

A company has $10,710 available per month for advertising. Newspaper ads cost $180 each and can't run more than 22 times per month. Radio ads cost $560 each and can't run more than 31 times per month at this price

Answers

Answer:

22 radio advertisements will be used.

Explanation:

Note: A similar complete question is as follow as the question provided is incomplete "A company has $11,970 available per month for advertising. Newspaper ads cost $110 each and can't run more than 25 times per month. Radio ads cost $410 each and can't run more than 32 times per month at this price. Each newspaper ad reaches 5950 potential customers, and each radio ad reaches 7100 potential customers. The company wants to maximize the number of ad exposures to potential customers. Use n n for number of Newspaper advertisements and r r for number of Radio advertisements . Maximize P"

Number of potential customers that can be reached due to each dollar spent in newspaper advertising =  5950 / 110 = 54.09

Number of potential customers that can be reached due to each dollar spent in Radio advertisements = 7100 / 410 = 17.32.

As the number of potential customers reached by each dollar spent is more from the newspaper advertising, we will use all the newspaper advertising opportunities before going for the radio advertisements. So, we will choose to have 25 newspaper advertisements in the month.

The cost of 25 newspaper advertisements = 25*110  = $2750.

Amount left = $11970 - $2750 = $9220.

Number of radio advertisements possible in this budget = 9220 / 410 = 22.48

Hence, 22 radio advertisements will be used.

There are two very lesser known things that are generally left out of the conversation when it comes to these two topics: One is that the Declaration of Independence was actually signed on August 2nd of 1776, NOT July 4th. The famous photo of everyone assembled together to sign is also incorrect, as the signatures were actually gathered over the span of the time between July 4th and August 2nd as those individuals returned to sign it.The second is an interesting piece of information to bring into the equation as our nation continues to try and understand the past as it pertains to slavery. Very few are taught, let alone know that the original draft of the Declaration of Independence made a formal statement about slavery and its acknowledgment that the peculiar institution went against everything the Founding Fathers were looking to produce with the new republic. If you remember, Thomas Jefferson, like most of the founding fathers who owned slaves, did not actually purchase slaves. Instead, they inherited them. How did Thomas Jefferson, who openly spoke against the institution of slavery, grapple with the fact that he also had slaves AND potentially have had a relationship with one of his own slaves, producing several children from this relationship? With the exception of the handful of those who embarked on the monetary side of the trans-atlantic slave trade, most slave owners who continued to have slaves had them handed down as their parents passed away. It is likely that some/many grew up as children alongside those they would one day be responsible for, which from my research I believe helped to promote the mindset that the institution needed to be abolished. I would like for you to read the rough "draught" of the Declaration of Independence find and identify the passage where Thomas Jefferson mentions the fact that the British crown not only brought/introduced slaves into the colonies and then attempted to turn them against the American colonists once they declared their independence. Conduct some research on the writing of this original draft, as well as what happened to it which caused it to be omitted from the final draft which we have all come to know today. What does this mean for your understanding of how early the conversation began historically on questioning the institution of slavery? Use the information provided from your research to support your position. Also, you should NOT make statements that look back on this period of time based on present day understandings. We clearly know and understand slavery is and was wrong, however, at this era of time, slavery existed across most of the globe, with many races, religions, genders, etc being enslaved for various reasons. It was as unfortunate as it was, an accepted practice at the time, and had been for most of all of recorded history. What we are here to try and understand is how and when the concept of abolishing this practice began in our country, and how that mindset evolved over the period of time from the 1700s up until it was finally abolished in 1865.  SOURCE:

Answers

The original draft of the Declaration of Independence addressed the issue of slavery and expressed the Founding Fathers' opposition to the institution.

The rough "draught" of the Declaration of Independence included a passage in which Jefferson condemned the British crown for introducing and promoting the slave trade in the colonies. He accused the British of inciting slave rebellions against the American colonists, highlighting the contradiction between the principles of freedom and the practice of slavery. However, this passage was removed from the final draft due to political considerations and the desire for unity among the colonists.

This historical context reveals that the Founding Fathers were aware of the moral inconsistency between their ideals of liberty and the practice of slavery. While some of them, including Thomas Jefferson, personally owned slaves, they recognized the need to address and eventually abolish slavery. The inclusion of anti-slavery sentiments in the original draft of the Declaration of Independence reflects an early recognition and discussion of the issue. Over time, the understanding and opposition to slavery grew, leading to the eventual abolition of slavery in the United States in 1865.

The provider of the good or service has two options for doing this: either directly or indirectly, through distributors or intermediaries. The marketing mix's final three elements are product, pricing, and promotion. Distribution decisions must be made in line with the company's broader strategic goal and aim. The EEZ was established by the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) in 1982 to provide coastal states with more control over their ocean resources. The EEZ is important for the economic development and security of coastal states, and it also helps to protect and preserve the marine environment.

A firm will start generating positive profits when ___.
A. total revenue exceeds the total fixed costs
B. total variable costs exceed total fixed costs
C. the total number of units sold exceeds the accounting break-even point
D. total revenue exceeds the initial investment required to general that revenue

Answers

Option A is correct . A firm will start generating positive profits when the total revenue exceeds the total variable costs plus the total fixed costs.

This is because total revenue represents the income generated from sales, while total variable costs include expenses directly related to production and sales volume. Total fixed costs are the expenses that remain constant regardless of the level of sales. When total revenue exceeds the sum of total variable costs and total fixed costs, the firm begins to generate positive profits.

Total revenue - (Total variable costs + Total fixed costs) > 0

If the firm's total revenue is $10,000, total variable costs are $5,000, and total fixed costs are $3,000, the calculation would be:

$10,000 - ($5,000 + $3,000) = $2,000

Internships: As I am without a job, obtaining a short space among a renowned organization is an excellent method to acquire a footing in the entrance, or produce me including valuable business connections to convene upon in the eternity. Company Websites: If I want a job and want to get to know the company better, why not check out the job part of the company’s website. If I will see opportunities on the company’s website, there is a possibility I will obtain exactly the opportunity that I have been expecting for.

6. Write your answers to at least three of the Lesson 2 questions on the What You Want from Your Life page.

So here are the questions the question is talking about:

What activities do you most enjoy?What activities do you least enjoy?What things have you never done before but want to try?What things would your job need to include in order to make you feel satisfied?What things are you especially good at?What are your weaknesses?What values are most important to you?What issues or causes do you care most about?Which people in your life are most important to you?

I answered these 3:

What are your weaknesses? My weaknesses include trouble focusing, impulsiveness, lack of motivation at times, and wanting to be recognized for my efforts. Which people in your life are most important to you? My mom, my grandpa, and my best friend. I would do anything for them, and they know that. I tend to care about their wellbeing more than my own because they give me the motivation to pursue any opportunity that comes my way. What things are you especially good at? I am good at motivating and helping others. I understand my faults and always try to improve in any shape, way, or form. I am also very personable.

7. I am not sure what career I want to go in so I will just say an example. If I wanted to work in the veterinary field or be an animal doctor, some steps to take to lead toward this career would be to volunteer at the SPCA or animal shelters so I can get hands-on experience and a first-hand experience on what your career would be. With the prior knowledge of the animals on your resume, it would look good and they would hire me for my prior experience.

8. The section that was the easiest was the general information page. Including your name, age, etc. The hardest section for me was the goals section because I don’t really have any concrete goals at this point in my life right now and I am stuck choosing between multiple career options. One example of an experience I had in the past was when I would volunteer at my church (when I was religious). Now I tend to act as my mother’s secretary for her job, letting her know information from a voicemail, driving her, or taking notes for her meetings.

I put a lot of time and effort into this so, I hoped this helped! :)

generally, organizations are more centralized in the early stages of their existence and more decentralized as they grow. T/F

Answers

The given statement "Generally, organizations are more centralized in the decentralized as they grow" is true because in the beginning, when an organization is small, it is easier to manage and coordinate all the activities from one central point.

This helps to ensure consistency and efficiency in decision-making. However, as the organization grows, it becomes more complex and difficult to manage from a single point. Decentralization helps to delegate decision-making authority to lower levels of the organization, allowing for faster response times and greater flexibility in addressing issues.

It also promotes empowerment among employees, leading to a more motivated and engaged workforce. Therefore, organizations tend to become more decentralized as they grow, allowing them to adapt to the changing business environment and achieve their goals more effectively.
