In any healthcare setting there are multiple medical professionals and disciplines that assist with patient care. There are four main interprofessional that should be present in a healthcare team which are values/ethics, responsibilities, communication and teamwork (Schmitt, Blue, Aschenbrener, & Viggiano, 2011). All four of these factors working together create a healthy and productive environment for patients and staff. "The establishment of these competencies for health professionals provides a transformative direction for improving the health care system" (Schmitt, Blue, Aschenbrener, & Viggiano, 2011).
In my own professional experience we use a lot of teamwork strategies. Working for a home hospice agency we have multiple disciples that are needed to provide patients with high quality end of life care. There is the clinical team of nurses, aides and medical directors but we also have music therapists, social workers and pastoral care to assist with the social and emotional aspects of care. Our team utilizes communication and teamwork to make patients and their families experience on hospice peaceful and help them during difficult times. Medical professionals must develop a plan of care for the patient and social workers and pastoral care assist the family with external concerns. These other concerns could be financial or planning services for their loved one. Since there are multiple disciplines involved, documentation needs to be accurate and prompt after visiting the patients. This keeps communication open ensuring everyone knows what is going on with the patient and family. We also hold huddles or meetings each morning to get together via zoom to discuss any important changes that occured.
1. According to the statement above what can one agree and or disagree with?
The core competencies for interprofessional collaborative practice include interprofessional teamwork and team-based practice, interprofessional communications practices, roles and responsibilities for collaborative practice and values/ethics for interprofessional practice (Slusser, 2018). Each of these competencies can be broken down further into sub-competencies that include measurable objectives (Slusser, 2018). These competencies were developed to ensure safe, accessible, and high-quality patient-centered care for all patients (Slusser, 2018). Additionally, these competencies are utilized to maximize the efficiency of the health care work force by enforcing collaborative work (Slusser, 2018).
A few examples related to my current work experience includes utilizing team-based practice and roles and responsibilities for collaborative practice. At the Center for Autism and Related Disorders (CARD) we service those with Autism and related diagnosis. Our teams consist of BCBA’s, Clinical Supervisors, QA Leads, Operations, and Group Clinical Managers. All together we collaborate on treatment plans, recommended hours, requesting authorizations from insurance, scheduling, and tracking progress for our clients. This creates an efficient collaborative environment in which the entire team is responsible for ensuring quality health care delivery to our clients. Similarly, it is important to highlight and utilize each role’s responsibility to ensure success for taking on new clients or monitoring current client’s treatment adherence and progress. For example, the Group Clinical Managers and BCBA’s are responsible for conducting the intake assessment, recommending hours of treatment, and developing treatment plans. Additionally, Operations is responsible for working with insurance to receive the authorization for therapy, efficiently scheduling their treatment, and establishing a team with specific skills to match the patient’s clinical recommendation.
2. According to the statement above what can one agree and or disagree with?

Answers

Answer 1

interprofessional collaborative practice, and navigation of systems and policies for interprofessional collaborative practice.

One can agree with the statement that the establishment of these competencies for health professionals provides a transformative direction for improving the health care system. The interprofessional collaborative practice competencies are essential for providing high-quality patient care and improving healthcare outcomes.

By working together as a team, healthcare professionals can share knowledge, skills, and resources, leading to more effective care and better patient outcomes. Additionally, the competencies help to ensure that healthcare professionals are aware of their roles and responsibilities in collaborative practice and can navigate systems and policies to effectively work together.

One can also disagree with the statement to some extent. While the interprofessional collaborative practice competencies are important for improving healthcare outcomes, there may be other factors that are also important for effective patient care. For example, individual clinical skills and expertise, access to resources, and patient preferences may also play a role in determining the quality of care that patients receive.

Additionally, there may be challenges to implementing the interprofessional collaborative practice competencies, such as cultural differences or power dynamics within healthcare teams, that may need to be addressed in order to ensure effective collaboration.

Yes, It is illegal to water ski unless the skier is wearing a USCG-approved PFD. The correct option is d) a USCG-approved PFD.

Water skiing is a water sport in which a skier is pulled behind a boat at high speed on the water's surface using a tow rope. Skiing on water can be done in freshwater or saltwater. The basic skills and movements of water skiing are similar to those of skiing on snow. In water skiing, the skier should be able to maintain balance while holding onto the tow rope. One such measure is the requirement that skiers must wear personal flotation devices (PFDs).

A personal flotation device (PFD) is a device worn by a person to keep them afloat in water. A PFD is an essential safety tool for anyone who spends time on or near water. PFDs are commonly worn by boaters, kayakers, paddleboarders, and swimmers, as well as water skiers.

Because it is illegal to water ski without wearing a USCG-approved PFD. USCG stands for United States Coast Guard. The USCG is responsible for setting safety standards for recreational boating, including requirements for personal flotation devices. USCG-approved PFDs typically have the following features: They are made of durable materials that can withstand the elements. They have reflective strips or patches to make the wearer more visible in low light conditions. They have adjustable straps to ensure a secure fit. They have a buoyancy rating that indicates the amount of flotation they provide.

Ego transcendence versus ego preoccupation: Individuals must learn humility and acceptance of their limitations in order to complete this mission. They ought to be conscious of the fact that they are not the center of the universe and that there are other perspectives that are equally valid.

Body transcendence versus body preoccupation: People's bodies deteriorate and change as they get older. Which does the gender identity spectrum include? Select three options. cisgender people only two genders only a single gender people who identify as neither male nor female people who identify as both male and female

Answers

Answer:

Cisgender people, People who identify as neither male nor female, People who identify as both male and female.

Answer:

(A) Cisgender people

(D) People who identify as neither male or female

(E) People who identify as both male and female

Explanation:

If this is confusing for you I will explain. Gender norms for most of the world consist of two binary genders of male and female. Just because these are the norms it does not mean these are the only two gender identities. Think of gender as a spectrum. 1 being female and 10 being male. Anyone can fall anywhere on that spectrum, and even not on it at all. You could be l, 10, or any number in between. You could be multiple of those numbers at once. Sometimes you could be one, sometimes 10, and any other number or placement at any other time. You could not be on that spectrum altogether. There are different names depending on where you are on that spectrum. If you are at one and were born afab (assigned female at birth), you would be a cisgender female. If you are at one and were born amab (assigned male at birth), you are a transgender female. If you are at 10 and were born amab, you are a cisgender male, and if you are at 10 and were born afab, you are a transgender male. If you don't fit either you could be a number of different things. If you feel like your gender identity is non-binary that could mean you feel neither male or female ever. If you are genderfluid your gender identity can change between different genders at any given time. For some people who are genderfluid they switch between a certain number of genders, and for other genderfluid people they may switch between all different gender identities. Another gender identity is agender. When you are agender you feel like you don't have a gender. Then you would not fall on the spectrum at all, but somewhere else. Some others are demigirl/demiboy, where you feel partially attached to a binary gender but not fully. There are many, many more gender identities and all are valid. Pronouns someone uses are completely up to what they are comfortable with. Also keep in mind that gender identity has nothing to do with gender expression, and also that not everyone may feel comfortable taking hormone blockers, hormones, or with surgeries. This is also completely up to them.

Keep in mind that any degree (Associate, Bachelor, or Advanced) counts as graduating from college.

Answers

The probability that the individual is a college graduate, given that they smoke, can be calculated using the conditional probability formula.

What is the conditional probability that the individual is a college graduate, given that they smoke?

Let's denote the events as follows:

A: The individual is a college graduate.

B: The individual smokes.

We are given the following probabilities:

P(A|B) = Probability that the individual is a college graduate given that they smoke = 0.11 (11%)

P(A') = Probability that the individual is not a college graduate = 1 - P(A) = 1 - 0.11 = 0.89 (89%)

We need to find P(B|A), which is the probability that the individual smokes given that they are a college graduate. To calculate this, we can use Bayes' theorem:

P(B|A) = (P(A|B) * P(B)) / P(A)

P(B) = Probability that the individual smokes = P(B|A') * P(A') + P(B|A) * P(A) = 0.45 * 0.89 + 0.11 * 0.11 = 0.4014 + 0.0121 = 0.4135

Now, substituting the values into Bayes' theorem:

P(B|A) = (P(A|B) * P(B)) / P(A) = (0.11 * 0.4135) / 0.11 = 0.0455

Therefore, the probability that the individual is a college graduate, given that they smoke, is approximately 0.0455 or 4.55%.

Ranking the lifestyle factors in order of their contribution to the development of hypertension:

ObesityExcessive salt intakeInactivityExcessive alcohol intake

Obesity: Obesity is considered one of the most influential lifestyle factors contributing to the development of hypertension. Excess body weight puts strain on the cardiovascular system, leading to increased blood pressure.

Excessive salt intake: Consuming high amounts of salt can lead to fluid retention, which increases blood volume and subsequently raises blood pressure. While individual sensitivities to salt intake may vary, excessive consumption can contribute to hypertension.

Inactivity: A sedentary lifestyle and lack of physical activity can lead to weight gain, obesity, and overall poor cardiovascular health. Regular exercise helps maintain healthy blood pressure levels and promotes cardiovascular fitness.

Excessive alcohol intake: While excessive alcohol intake can temporarily raise blood pressure, its long-term impact on hypertension is less clear. However, heavy and prolonged alcohol consumption can contribute to other risk factors such as obesity, liver disease, and high triglyceride levels, which may indirectly affect blood pressure.

It's important to note that these factors often interact and influence each other. Making positive changes in these lifestyle factors, such as maintaining a healthy weight, reducing salt intake, staying physically active, and drinking alcohol in moderation, can significantly reduce the risk of developing hypertension and promote overall cardiovascular health.

Applying Virtue Ethics, Truth Telling, and the Deontological Ethical Decision-Making Process Because finding affordable housing was difficult, 26-year-old Terry White lived with her 6-month-old son, Tommy, and his father, Billy Smith, in one room of the landlord's own house. Ms. White was morbidly obese and was diagnosed with the bipolar disease; Mr. Smith had served time for drug dealing and was out on parole and staying straight. Neither had finished high school. Mr. Smith's past drug use had rendered him unable to do much manual labor because of heart damage, but on occasion, he would work in construction to support the family. Public health nurse Jim Lewis had received a referral on Tommy when he was diagnosed with failure to thrive (FTT) 2 months earlier. Ms. White, who had had two children removed from her custody by Child Protective Services (CPS) in the past, and Mr. Smith seemed to adore their baby, so much so that Ms. White would hold the baby all day long. In the past 2 months, the nurse had taught Ms. White about infant nutrition and gotten her enrolled in the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) nutrition program; as a result, Tommy had increased his rate of physical growth and was above the 5% level of his growth percentile. Yet he was not meeting his gross motor milestones per Denver Developmental Screening Test II (DDST II) testing. Mr. Lewis thought that Tommy was not allowed to play on the floor enough to progress in sitting, pushing his shoulders up, or crawling. Most of their small room was taken up with the bed and the boxes that stored their belongings. There wasn't really space for "tummy time" or play. When not in the room, the family would take the bus to a discount store and spend the day walking around to get a change of scene. One week Ms. White told the nurse she was not taking her medications for bipolar disease anymore because they caused her to gain weight. The next week she confided that Mr. Smith had had a "dirty" urine specimen check and would have to return to prison in the near future. The following week Mr. Lewis found the family living in a run-down motel since their landlord evicted them following a disagreement. Ms. White was agitated and told the nurse that they had only $100. Mr. Smith was going to have to return to prison that week, and the motel bill was already $240. Ms. White knew she would be homeless soon without Mr. Smith's support but refused to talk with her social worker about her needs. She asked the nurse not to tell anyone about her situation because she was afraid CPS would take Tommy from her. It was clear to Mr. Lewis that Ms. White might not know what would happen to Tommy after they left this motel. 1. Considering the principle of truth-telling, what are Mr. Lewis' professional responsibilities to Ms. White, to Tommy, and to the social worker assigned to this family? 2.
